Presidential Election 2000. Historically, presidential campaigns have provided a forum for discussing change and expressing uniquely American ideals and ideas. In the past, heated campaigns have generated great excitement. Although the 2000 presidential race has been described as close with an unpredictable outcome, for lack of clear-cut ideals the campaign has stirred little passion among voters.
