The Problem of Racial Profiling in Law Enforcement. This paper discusses racial profiling in law enforcement. Many people argue that in a culture as racially diverse as the United States, the practice has lost any real value and only serves to widen the racial divide and heighten feelings of social injustice. Others feel that racial profiling is a valid and effective law enforcement tactic, and that in today's atmosphere of heightened security, racial profiling is not only acceptable, but also necessary. In the following pages, I will examine both sides of the issue and come to what I believe to be the rational conclusion.
