Repression and Sensuality in One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest This paper investigates the latent sexual struggle between Nurse Ratched and McMurphy, a new and difficult patient, in Ken Kesey's novel One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. McMurphy introduces a bold sensuality to the ward, whose male patients have been repressed and subjugated by the women who oversee them.
